My gynecologist told me that I might consider losing some weight if I wanted to get pregnant. While she was saying that I thought: “You could lose some weight too, doctor!” She was really big. Okay but kidding aside, I weigh 56.5 kg or 124.8 lbs right now and I don’t think I am overweight. I calculated my BMI and it is 24.1 which mean it is a healthy weight.

I did read somewhere that skinny women get pregnant easier. I wonder if it is true. There are a lot of myths on getting pregnant. Sometimes I don’t know which one to believe. Maybe I should lose a bit of weight just to be on the safe side, do you think?

Since I stepped in to adolescence I have been always conscious of my weight. There was a time that I even became almost bulimic, forcing myself to throw up. Thank goodness, I was able to stop that before it was too late. But I still try all kinds of diets as well but nothing really worked for me. I am now considering weightwatchers.

I have heard a lot about them and I even visited weight watchers online to learn more about this popular diet. When you visit their site you will find lots of information including healthy recipes, tips, ideas and a community forum where you can interact with fellow weight watchers.

Have you ever tried this diet and did it work out for you? I am really curious. I might just give it a try!

Diets do not work for me, but I have lost twenty pounds in the last year. I am eating less and exercising more! Good luck.

It doesn't sound like your weight should pose any problems. There are so many other things that can impede getting pregnant. It has been a long time but we consulted a fertility specialist after trying for just a short time. 20+ years ago, Chris had surgery to take care of endometriosis and then used a mild fertility drug. I also had a complete check up (the problem isn't always with the female). We did the checking temperature and mucus and I was forced to have sex at the most optimal time for her to become pregnant.

Best wishes to you in becoming a mom and a Merry Christmas!

@ Gran - I probably should do that but I really love food. *sigh* ;)

@ John - yeah I know what you are saying.

"I was forced to have sex" LOL!!!

We actually have not tried for long. I will be taking blood tests soon and see if I am okay. My hubby fathered 3 children already so he should be okay.

The temperature and mucus thing, that I still need to start doing next month.

Thanks for your input and I wish you Happy Holidays too!

@ Tina - I so love my food too! I am still trying to find out which diet would not be too difficult for me to follow.

Thanks for dropping by girl!

Only 124 lbs?? That isn't the problem of you getting pregnant. That is a very healthy weight and I would kill to be that much less! WW is awesome. I honestly don't think you need to be on WW but to each their own I suppose! You aren't overweight so there has to be another problem why you aren't getting pregnant. I think the doc needs to do more testing on you to check for endometriosis which is a big problem with women here in the states. I am a big girl and had 2 big healthy babies!

@ domesticgoddess - Thanks girl! I probably need to exercise more instead of doing diet. Yeah we will still do further testing in the coming months.

I haven't eaten rice for the past two months and I've lost some weight. Nothing spectacular but at least I lost some. I still have 8 more pounds to go to achieve my pre-pregnancy weight. And your doctor is right. because there's a certain hormone needed in pregnancy that is missing once someone gains weight. but in your case, you're not even overweight.

I don't know how tall you are but unless you are maybe three feet tall, 124 lbs. doesn't sound too chubby. However, if you want to give it a try, losing a couple of pounds would certainly make it easier to get your figure back after pregnancy. I was a bit overweight when I got pregnant so it isn't just skinny girls that can conceive.
Merry Christmas, I hope the new year brings you a bundle of joy!

How tall are you? I think I remember you being petite so I don't think you should go any lower than 110. Now, as far as that skinny women get pregnant easier: I don't know anything about that. You should be of healthy weight with a healthy diet. Start taking pre-natal vitamins and eating lots of fruits and vegetables to prepare a healthy body. Also, I just count my calories to lose weight but I have heard that weight watchers work for a lot of people. Try not to think about getting pregnant and relax... a lot of times our minds are what keep our bodies from doing certain things. I mean we can get sick from stress so worrying about getting pregnant can be stressful. Good luck honey and be healthy!
